Smt. Abhilasha Bisht, IPS, DGP
Director, RBVRR TGPA
Smt. Abhilasha Bisht was recruited to the Indian Police Service in the year 1994. She served as Addl. SP and SP in districts like ANANTAPUR and KADAPA during the year 2000 and 2003. She served in the Peace Keeping Mission UNMIK in KOSOVO as part of the Indian peace keeping contingent. Later she went on deputation to Uttarakhand and worked as DIG L&O and Security. She has also served in UNICEF from 2010 to 2015 in Liberia and Sudan as the Country Security Advisor. A native of Dehradun, Uttarakhand State, Smt. Abhilasha Bisht, an Honours Degree in Political Science from Delhi University, Master’s Degree in Political International Studies and MPhil degree in International Politics, Organization and Disarmament Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University.

The Academy aspires to develop officers of courage, discipline and compassion through advanced learning. It seeks to build a culture of ethical, people-centric policing rooted in Constitutional values. Through innovation and continuous learning, it aims to strengthen public trust in the police service. Ultimately, it envisions shaping police leaders who inspire confidence and uphold.
By imparting high-quality professional training through competent and experienced faculty, the Telangana Police Academy aims to enhance the competence, integrity and empathy of police officers and all those associated with the criminal justice system. The Academy strives to develop officers who serve the community with dedication, uphold peace, tranquility, safety and security and function in accordance with the rule of law and the legitimate expectations and rights of the people. Its mission is to nurture a disciplined, professional and committed police force capable of effectively meeting the challenges of contemporary policing.

About the Academy
RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy was established in 1986 as a nodal agency and an institute of higher learning for Police and other Law Enforcement agencies and Public Prosecutors. It is recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for police training.

Accommodation Facilities
International Officers Mess (IOM) consisting of 108 Rooms of which 56 are furnished for Addl.SsP & above. Senior Officers Mess (SOM) consisting 50 Rooms for Dy.SsP. Junior Officers Mess consisting of 407 Rooms JOM-I, II & Annexe for (ASI/SI/Inspectors). Subordinate Officers Mess (SOTC) consisting of 12 Barracks (300 capacity) for Constables / HCs.
Studio Room
Telangana State Police Academy has a studio room to enable online training. Telangana Police officers from anywhere in the state can be trained with this facility. Many courses and workshops were conducted in Hybrid Model during the Covid time.
